I’m not sure about everyone else, but for me, my two favorite parts of making a quilt are choosing/gathering/purchasing fabric, and sewing the last seams on a quilt top! There is something so exciting about finally finishing a quilt top. Of course, then there is still the basting, the quilting, and the binding to do, but finishing a quilt always feels like such an “aha!” moment for me.

Simple Tips for Sewing Borders

Sometimes, I think sewing a border on can be almost the hardest part of putting a quilt top together. You don’t want the borders to be wavy and if you just start sewing a border onto a quilt without pinning or measuring, they often turn out wavy. Not awesome!  This is the way I sew borders onto a quilt.

And if you are like me, and your quilt blocks are still in pieces [or you haven’t started yet], its your lucky week! Next week is a catch up week.  Happy sewing!

You can post pictures of your progress and finished blocks on Instagram [use the hashtags #fireflyquilt #fireflyquiltalong #patterndrop].
